Tired from lack of sleep last night. It’s gonna be a cat-free zone tonight.

Work wasn’t too bad. I worked on software purchases, did some more cleanup and stripped, cleaned and built a computer while listening to episodes of the CBS Radio Mystery Theater.

After I got home I worked on lots of weasel stuff, made dinner and watched a new episode of Dirty Jobs. I’ve been working on updating pages on the TW site, shading older strips and working on the upcoming book. Today’s strip isn’t ready, but that’s the breaks. Sometimes the deadline is a harsh mistress.

Think I’m gonna sleep now.

It’s been quite a day, the rains have made a real mess of thing here. I really wish I had a camera today. As it was, I got a co-worker to snap a picture with her phone of the creek behind the office.

I know it’s hard to get a sense of scale from this picture, but usually this creek is about a 10th of this size. I’ve been working at this place for 12 years and I’ve never seen it get that deep!

Well, after all the stories of Interstates being closed and neighborhoods under water, a crawlspace with a few inches of water in it isn’t so bad after all!

I’ve been on the antibiotics for a few days now and I think it’s helping. Finally, there are moments between the snot when I feel a little more like myself again.

I went in for some tests today. Between my heart being a little wonky and feeling like general crap the past couple weeks, it was time. They took blood, did some x-rays and got me hooked up to a portable EKG for the next 24 hours. It wasn’t cheap, but hopefully it will give us and idea of what is going on when the results come back in a week.

Don’t worry too much, I think I’ll be all right.

DragonCon is behind us and it’s time to get back to the normal (I know, I still need to finish putting up pics though). Today, we got caught up on the yard work that’s been on hold for the past couple weeks. The grass was getting tall enough in the back yard that the squirrels were starting to hide from us!  Now the mowing is done and that has been taken care of. After all, we can’t have them out of the sights of Angela’s pellet rifle now, can we?

After that, we did some errands done and we parked ourselves over at the Porter. Today they were celebrating their 1 year anniversary and there were some specialty beers on tap for the occasion. If you haven’t tried this place yet, you need to. The food is great and they have a beer for every taste and occasion.

Once we trundled back from there, we camped out on the couches to watch the movie Changeling. We’ve heard many good things about it and they are true. J. Michael Straczynski, Ron Howard and Clint Eastwood did an amazing job with this movie.

It was a pretty good ‘Con. Today was the last day and we’re both tired. I’ll post more photos and stuff later, for now I’m getting ready for work tomorrow.

I’m working on the next 3 comics today. Since I’m taking a break to rest my hand, I thought I’d give you a little update. My plan is to first get the comic from last Thursday up today. Then, I’ll get this week’s comics done and have them scheduled to go up. Stay tuned for more updates!

After talking it over with Angela, there is a slight change of plans. The strip that I just finished will go up tomorrow. Then I will post the next comics Thursday and Saturday. Really, I’m not changing my mind.

Woke up to the sound of the falling rain this morning. It made for nice sleeping weather, but it lost some of it’s charm when I went outside to see where the rain was cascading over the gutters. Looks like I’ll be getting up on the roof in the near future…

For the past couple weeks I’ve been fighting another round of depression. This time feels more biological than caused by anything in particular at least. It’s a serious pain in the ass, but I usually just have to ride it until it’s over. Intellectually, I know that it’s just a mood that will pass, but it’s cold comfort in the middle of what feels like a gray, numbing haze. It’s been hard to focus on anything or care enough to make the effort. I’m over everything, every mistake seems ten miles high and every victory seems empty.

Anyway, I’m just writing this get some of it out of my system and for whoever actually cares to read this. Right now I need to get back to work and try to get something done.

I find a certain irony to a comic about drama llamas being delayed by…well, drama.

You see this? This is an ignition coil pack. Usually, it just minds it’s own business, sitting on top of your engine block, doing it’s thing. When it does it’s job, your car runs nicely. When it doesn’t, it runs like like chrome plated crap. You ever hear that saying, “not firing on all cylinders”? Well, this is one of the reasons why that saying is still around. I tell ya, no car will sound good when it’s running down the Interstate minus 1 cylinder. Doesn’t feel good either, it rides about as rough as it sounds!

Anyway, after much troubleshooting and repair on this problem, the comic isn’t going up today. It’s been a long day (after a week of them) and I need to rest my hand after working to pull those spark plugs. I plan to get the today’s comic up over the next couple days as I continue the preparation for DragonCon.  Until then, I hope to beat this week’s insomnia and get some rest for tomorrow.

Angela and I have been brainstorming some ideas and the llamas are coming back for another round of lunacy! After all, you just can’t keep a good llama down.

I’ve also been working on getting other weasel related stuff ready for DragonCon next week. Business cards, samplers and of course the comics for next week all have to come together.

*sigh* A weasel’s work is never done!

Friday night came around again and I cooked another tasty meal for Angela! On the menu was steak with potato & garlic perogies topped with a creamy brandy mustard sauce and a side mushroom peas. We then drank red wine and watched silly movies (the first Harold & Kumar and Meet the Spartans) for the rest of the night.

Today I’m getting some stuff done at work remotely and Angela is taking it easy. Her parts are hurting and she needs the rest.

It’s been hard for me to be interested in much on the web recently. It’s all well and good, but sometimes it’s not enough. I’ve messed around a bit on Facebook, but not too much else. I did finish a new comic though and it went live this morning, go check it out!

It’s seems that the plug-in that collected my day’s tweets into a blog post here has stopped working since the latest WordPress upgrade (2.8.4). I think it’s just as well that it did, since I was tired of it being the only recent content here.
